It is with a heavy heart and great sadness to have to update this page.
Our Dear Sister Farzana has returned to Her Lord after a long struggle with her health.
Farzana was very passionate about building a masjid as a Sadaqah Jariyah.
Alhumdulillah she reached the target to build the masjid and witnessed the masjid completion and opening ceremony while she was alive.
Even whilst going through such hardship Farzana continued to support this masjid (Masjid Maryam) and wanted to add extra items to the masjid so that worshippers could have ease in their worship.
We are now continuing this fundraiser to raise funds for the below items which will be added to Masjid Maryam inshaAllah.
Masjid Additions:
- Carpet – £1,000
- Solar package to provide electricity for lighting and fans – £1,500
- Wudu Area – £875
- Adding a classroom for Quran Classes (TBC)
Sunnah Charity is a 100% Donation charity and therefore 100% of all donations will go directly to support the masjid and the listed masjid additions.
We ask Allah The Almighty to shower His mercy on our dear sister, accept this Sadaqah Jariyah, forgive her sins, bless her with a grave, which is a garden from the gardens of paradise and enter her into the Highest Ranks of Jannah

My name is Farzana Azam and I am organising this fundraiser to raise funds to build a masjid in The Gambia.
I would like this masjid to be an ongoing charity for everyone who donates and supports this project so that it will be a source for us all to have reward from Allah The Almighty in this life and the next.
I am doing this through Sunnah Charity who I completely trust and I have full faith in their work , transparency and honesty. I personally know the people who have set up Sunnah Charity from childhood and have trust in their work and am proud of their 100% Donation Policy where all of our donations are only going to be used for charitable purposes.
The Gambia Masjid

What does this include:
- Capacity: Upto 120 People
- Spacious Main Building Floor
- External Veranda Area
- Minaret
- Steel Windows
- Imam Prayer Area
- Tiled Flooring including veranda
- Microphone System
- Walls with durable paint
- Tiled Water Well with signboard

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah said:”When a man dies all his good deeds come to an end except three: Ongoing charity (Sadaqah Jariyah), beneficial knowledge and a righteous son who prays for him.
