Urgent Appeal — Help Sri Lanka’s Flood Victims in Their Hour of Need
The recent floods and landslides across Sri Lanka have brought catastrophic devastation: hundreds of lives lost, thousands of homes destroyed, and entire communities uprooted. According to recent reports, at least 334 people have died with many more still missing an, more than 15,000 homes destroyed and over 1.3 million people across the country have been affected by this disaster.
In response to this tragedy, Sunnah Charity is on the ground with emergency relief: distributing hot meals, clean drinking water, and mother and baby packs to displaced families.
Each Mother & Baby pack costs £15 and includes:
- soap
- toothbrushes
- pain relief
- baby nappies
- baby formula
- biscuits
- drinking water
- towels
- blankets
- mosquito nets
- basic essentials
The suffering is deep, children hungry, mothers and babies vulnerable, families without shelter or comfort. Now is the time for our Ummah to come together in compassion and action.
The Prophet ﷺ taught us: “Whoever relieves a believer’s hardship of this world, Allah will relieve his hardship of the Hereafter.” (Sahih Muslim)
Allah ﷻ also reminds us in the Qur’an: “And whatever you spend in charity, He will replace it.” (Qur’an 34:39)
