Assalamu Alaykum,
Our beloved mother and grandmother, Zahura Khanom Choudhury, returned to our Creator on 9 October 2026.
Her departure has left a space in our hearts that words cannot fill and we are raising funds to build a large community water well in her name in Bangladesh as Sadaqah Jariyah (ongoing charity). Through this lasting gift, we hope to let light flow where our sorrow sits – bringing safe, clean drinking water to impoverished families who desperately need it.
Water is life, and providing it is one of the purest acts of kindness. Our beloved Prophet ﷺ taught us that when a person leaves this world, their deeds come to an end except for three: “Ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for them.” (Muslim). And when Sa’d ibn ‘Ubadah (ra) asked which charity is best, the Prophet ﷺ replied simply and powerfully: “Water.” (Abu Dawud).
With every drop that eases someone’s thirst, we pray that Allah sends peace, mercy, and elevation to her soul. By contributing, you are helping ease the daily burden of families in need while creating a continuous stream of blessings that will, Insha’Allah, carry prayers and light to our dear mum for years to come.
We would be deeply grateful for any contribution, no matter how small. If you are unable to donate, please keep her in your duas and share this appeal with others.
May Allah accept this act of charity on her behalf and grant her, and the loved ones that have passed before us, a resting place filled with tranquillity, forgiveness, and divine grace. Ameen.
